2009 CLUB AGM
THE CLUB AGM WILL BE HELD ON WEDNESDAY 28.10.09 AT THE CLUB ROOMS AT 7.00PM
After a promising season on field that saw all three Eagles teams make the finals in 2009 it is now the business end of the year where the club will hold its AGM to appoint a new committee and review the 2009 season, whilst the players and coaches will reflect on another year gone begging after failing to win any finals matches.
I'm sure the newly appointed committee will continue the fighting spirit and efforts of past Doveton Eagle's committees and prepare the club well off field for the 2010 season, whilst the playing group will look at redeeming themselves on field and preseason cant come quick enough!
Next year will begin a new decade, a new chapter for our club that continues to grow. The next decade will bring new challenges and hopefully some on field successes to look forward to. If you want to get on board and help out next season please attend the AGM to show your support and voice any concerns, opinions, thoughts, ideas and advice as this is the forum to do so.
The AGM is open to all Life Members, 2009 Club Members, 2009 Sponsors and all non members to review the 2009 season and discuss other general club matters including the selection of a new committee for 2010. Please note that only club Life Members and 2009 Club Members (including supporters, sponsors, players and non players) can cast a vote on any matters arising at the AGM that may need to be voted on. All others present will not be allowed to vote on matters arising at the AGM but can participate in General Business discussions.
Anyone can be nominated to go on the 2010 committee. You can nominate on the day or prior to the meeting.
For more info on the AGM please contact the club President Paul Davis or Club Secretary Jenny Davis.
GO EAGLES!!!

CLUB FUNDRAISER
Assistance required for Phone Book Delivery run on the 14th of February
The club has accepted the distribution of yellow pages rights for the Doveton area. It is a large area of Casey that we need to deliver the phone books to and each pallet has 240 phone book packs on it. As this is a huge task, the co-operation of all committee members and players is appreciated.
The distribution of the phone books will be a tremendous boost and big fundraiser for the club. Let's kick off the 2009 season with a bang and support the club financially so that we are able to get a head start in paying off league fees and other bills that are needed to keep the club viable.
For those who can help out the club thanks you and please be at the club rooms at 11am where you will be instructed further. After the deliveries are completed the club will hold a BBQ back at the clubrooms.
Get involved in YOUR club’s future and get some preseason fitness too! For most players this will be used as a part of pre-season training as it will require running so please get on board. The coaches (Bazza & Wormy) are fully supportive of this initiative as it helps out the club financially and gets some much needed fitness into the playing group.
Please contact club vice president Brendan Hawkins on mobile 0401771047 for more information.

Also, support your club by buying your membership early and seeking out sponsors. Contact club Secretary Jenny Davis or any committee member for more info. All contact numbers can be found in the Contact Us link.

BARRY GIDDENS REAPPOINTED SENIORS COACH FOR 2009 SEASON
Welcome All,
I would firstly like to thank the Doveton Eagles Football Club for reappointing me as Senior Coach for the 2009 season.
I believe that the secret to the success of a football club is to have everyone involved feel part of the achievements and failures of a club.
This includes:
The playing group playing for each other regardless of where you play. i.e. Seniors, Reserves or Thirds.
That the team goals are more important than the individual goals.
That everyone involved with the club has a role to play. (Playing or Non-Playing)
That we respect everyone’s role within the club.
That we all understand the direction and we all contribute to this direction.
Open and honest communication.
If we can succeed in ensuring that everyone involved with the club understands what we are trying to achieve and that no matter how big or how small of a role you play within the club, we all contribute to the overall success in some way or another, then I believe we have the makings of a successful club in 2009 and into the future.
I would like to finish by saying that I am looking forward to the challenges that we as a club will face in the coming year and with everyone working together, players, officials and supporters we will be able to taste success.

Barry GiddensSenior Coach

Joel has joined our club for the first time after many years serving the Dandenong Demons F.C as both a coach and player. His experience will be invaluable and will also add to the clubs depth. Please make sure you get to know all the coaching staff and show your support by getting to as much of training as possible.
